The Scion xB jump-started the Scion brand with its literal edgy look. It was first sold for the 2004 model year, which was during the Scion brand’s inception. Toyota was hoping to attract younger buyers, producing vehicles with unusual aesthetics but with the reliability, affordability, and quality expected from Toyota vehicles. For the first half of the Scion brand’s 13-year run, the Scion xB was its best-selling model. It was overtaken by the Scion tC touring coupe in 2011.

The 2015 Scion xB was the last of its kind, offered in a single trim as with all Scion models. For the special-edition Release Series (RS) Line, the previous year’s RS 10.0 was offered in Electric Quartz with 1,500 units produced. The 2015 Scion xB is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-four engine that produces 158 hp and 162 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, with a four-speed automatic as optional. Front-wheel drive is also standard for the Scion xB.

Scion xB Standard Features

In-car entertainment for the 2015 Scion xB provides great value for money. For a $17,000 car, a six-speaker Pioneer premium sound system with speed-sensitive volume control is standard. So is a 6.1-inch touchscreen, HD radio, and Bluetooth. Other conveniences include a rear-view camera, cruise control, electric power steering, and front and rear door pockets.

How Big Is the Cargo Space in a Scion xB?

For a compact car, the Scion xB boasts one of the highest cargo accommodations among its competitors. While standard cargo space is at 11.6 cubic feet, it can extend up to 60.9 cubic feet by folding the rear seats. With all seats up, you get spacious seating with lots of headroom and legroom.
